WHOEVER IS HUMBLE AMONG YOU IS THE GREATEST
“Learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” These are the words from the Lord Jesus Christ. Are you a present-day disciple of Jesus Christ? If so, do you share in the above qualities of the master? Remember that the Lord said a disciple cannot be greater than his master! There is peace in obedience. Do you have peace and rest in your soul?
There are yoke to take along the journey of Christianity. No doubt about that! Resting in His love and giving back your love to Him on a continuous basis daily makes the yoke extremely lighter than you can feel it! The journey of becoming a true disciple of Christ starts from grasping what it is to love God and love one’s fellow human beings. It is these foundation that a strong house can rest stabilized. “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud(humble). It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”
Let us consider what qualified the following disciples of Christ to make it into heaven. It was written that the Lord Jesus Christ said, “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ … Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? … “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
Disciple, the Lord is saying: “… these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” Hope you got the message?
